Ross was born and raised in Hawai’i on the island of Oahu where he grew up playing tennis, baseball and swimming. He received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2020 where he graduated with honors and a 4.0 GPA. He then completed the USC Orthopedic Residency program and became a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2021. Prior to this, he received his Bachelors degree from the University of Hawai’i in Hilo where he played on the tennis team from 2005-2010, as well as a Masters degree in Exercise Physiology from San Jose State University in 2013. Ross’s passion for physical therapy developed when he learned he could help others reduce pain and improve function through exercise. As a former collegiate athlete, he is particularly sensitive to tailoring rehab for competitive and recreational individuals engaging in various physical activities. He is also passionate about incorporating appropriate movement analysis in determining the history and origin of patients’ pains and issues. Since receiving his DPT and completing his orthopedic residency, Ross has taken multiple certification courses to improve his ability to help all patients of various ages and abilities. These continuing education certifications include courses such as dynamic neuromuscular stabilization (DNS) for core stabilization geared towards improved athletic performance and rehabilitation, gait and run analysis for running rehab, and manual therapy techniques such as cupping, soft tissue mobilization, and Graston. Ross has worked with a variety of patient populations including longshoremen, powerlifters, triathletes, individuals with chronic pain issues, teenage and collegiate athletes, geriatric patients, musicians, office workers, and more. Ross is passionate about learning new techniques and ways to improve assessment, diagnosis, and plan of care for his patients. Outside of work, Ross enjoys training for powerlifting, playing with his cats, dog watching, and watching movies with his wife.
